As part of worldwide standardisation of English language competencies, the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) will introduce new international English language proficiency regulations in 2008. The aim is to establish and maintain high standards of aviation English language on an international level, with the primary goal of English being the only language used by all Pilots and Air Traffic Controllers.
